We had high hopes for our Newdle girl, and she’s exceeding our expectations!

We began researching doodle mixes while on our journey for a Diabetic Support Dog for my husband.

Soki is working through basic obedience as we find our path for therapy and support together.

Health and Safety First

Much time has been devoted to developing a healthy line of F1 Newfiepoos or Newfydoodles. Both parents are AKC registered, OFA hips and elbows certified and genetically cleared.

Pups are given the very best start to life with ENS and ESI. They are family-raised and well socialized with children and other animals.

What is a Newfiepoo?

A Newfiepoo is also known as Newfydoodle or Newdle. It is a doodle, started in 2009 when a Newfoundland was bred with a standard poodle.

Newfydoodles are a large breed dog, from 65-145lbs and 22-25 inches tall. We are expecting our litter to be on the smaller side of that range. Both parents are 23 inches tall and 50-70lbs. As with any mixed breed, sizes are estimates, and just like humans, puppies can sometimes be larger or smaller than their parents.

Why Newfiepoos?

The benefit of cross breeding is to combine the best from two heritage breed dogs.

We love the low energy and laid-back nature of our Newfoundland. But as a giant breed, they are prone to hip and joint issues. They are large in size with a high maintenance coat. By pairing her with a standard poodle, we are hoping to create a less intimidating size and minimize the associated joint issues that can go along with it. We have found that our Newdle, Soki has much less shedding.

Poodles have long been one of the most popular breeds, but they too have some very specific genetic concerns. Poodles are prone to hip dysplasia, retinal atrophy, and cardiac concerns, to name a few.

By cross breeding genetically testing and health cleared parents, we are hoping to decrease these health risks.

Both breeds are intelligent, outgoing and loyal, making them great companions and a natural mix.

What are the Pros of owning a Newfiepoo or Newfydoodle?

Newfiepoos have the reputation of being even-tempered family dogs. Newfydoodles are great with kids and other pets. They are intelligent, loyal, and ready to please their owners, making them easy to train. They make great companions for singles, couples, families or seniors. Newfiepoos are rumored to be one of the best doodle mixes out there.

What are the Cons of a Newfiepoo?

Everyone considering getting a dog should consider what is entailed in being a good pet owner. Doodle mixes are no exception:

Newfydoodles are large dogs that require 1 hour exercise a day. Having a stable living environment with a yard or firmly established exercise plan already in place becomes very important for the dog's quality of life.

Grooming is a way of life. It will vary according to the amount of time they spend outdoors. At minimum, Newfiepoos need to be brushed down at least weekly and bathed monthly. Most require occasional professional grooming, in addition.

Newfydoodles are ready to please, but they do require training. As a large breed, they are not allowed to be ill-mannered. For example, if an 8lb dog jumps on strangers and pulls on the leash during walks, it's a mild irritant. But it's a whole different story if a 40lb puppy has the same behavior! Please set your doodle up for success by starting training early!

We fully support dog rescue and our local shelter. Our Great Pyrenees, May, came to us as a second home. As breeders, we hold to the motto, "A dog for every home, a home for every dog.

"A dog for every home"- We work to make sure each puppy is placed with a caring forever home that is fully educated on what to expect from our breed. We provide temperament testing and place our pups in homes where their personality is best suited.

"A home for every dog"- We can breed ethically through guardianships. Each sire and dam has a family to call its own. Our dogs are our family, health comes first and they remain with us throughout their life.
